The Eye of the Hurricane

28 Jun

Hello there! Well, here I am *blogging*

Not something that I have foreseen myself doing 6 months ago, but neither did I foresee myself being married by now! I am now a “Mrs” and have been since about 2:30pm (CEST) June 16, 2012. The ceremony was simple enough, being the administrative bit done at the Mairie in Nantes, France.

There WAS a wedding party afterwards including a “Ceremony Laique” and plenty of champagne, and (I hate to boast)  it was probably the best party of my life–turned out better than I could ever hope for.

However this blog is not about the wedding itself, but rather a consolidation of all the information, details, and choices that were made by my *husband* (still getting used to it!) and me right up to the day. I apologize upfront if the grammar sucks or the style lacks but I am so out of practice with writing.

I do hope though that by laying down for you the dissection of a wedding celebration, you future brides out there, will have an actual model to work off rather than just the glossy images of a Martha Stewart Weddings magazine (there is lots of elbow grease, very little ‘glossy’ in the process!)

In a sense, I am lucky cos from proposal to wedding only took 6 months. That’s about 6 months to a year less than the usual to complete the transformation into bridezilla.

Through the coming weeks, I will try and fill in the blanks for this process. In the meantime, feel free to ask questions while things are still fresh in my mind. If I have an answer, I would be delighted to share.

So do check back regular.
